Career Satisfaction: Role of Proactive Personality with mediating effect of Psychological Empowerment Proactive Personality and Psychological Empowerment

Abstract

Psychological empowerment plays a crucial role in enhancing career satisfaction in the telecom sector of Pakistan. A proactive personality, which involves taking initiative and achieving opportunities, contributes to career satisfaction. This study investigates the relationship between proactive personality and career satisfaction using a sample size of 350 participants. Results show partial mediation of psychological empowerment, suggesting that proactive employees who gain empowerment from their environment are satisfied with their careers. Further research is needed to understand the impact of psychological empowerment on various managerial positions and job sectors in Pakistan.

Ms. Jaweria Tariq is graduated from Bahria University Islamabad in Management Sciences in 2013. She has an experience of over 15 years into academia and corporate sector both. Her interests are wellbeing, leadership, mental health, human resource management, organizational behavior and entrepreneurship. Dr. Fatima Abrar is a well researched academician with an ample experience of almost 10 years in teaching and research. She completed her PhD from Air University Pakistan in 2022. Her interests are human resource management, leadership, and organizational behavior. Dr. Abrar is also teaching as an Assistant Professor at Allama Iqbal Open University at the institute of Engineering and Technology.

Dr. Rehman is (Post-Doc Fellow & Faculty Member, Universiti Malaya/NDU Pakistan), an academician, researcher and consultant, has been working with various national and international organizations; UNOPS, INP, CNN, NUML, University of Bradford UK, AIOU, IIUI, NDU, PRESTON, Alwadi International College Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Iqra University, University of Liverpool, Lancaster University & HumaNext, etc. He has been serving through research, analysis, and training related to HRM, OB, OD, HRD, EI, SPSS, Project Management, SEM (through SmartPLS & AMOS), NVivo, MPlus and IdeaPuzzle.. Dr. Zia is also an HEC Approved supervisor for PhD Research candidates.
